Greetings- Readers, Patriots, and Four-Leggers everywhere! Bodhi B, Ace Reporter, here to bring you a quick doggerel from the b-b-beat. It is Independence Day...the Fourth of July. Time for hamburgers and really tasty HOT DOGS (one of America's favorite foods named in honor of one of America's favorite companions). Cook-outs galore. Running, fetching, dogging the folks into playing ball. Summer is in full swing.

The corn is knee-high on the Fourth of July, but not nearly as high as an elephant's eye and so far it's not climbing clear up to the sky. Probably because of all of the rain and clouds. Actually, the corn is kind of spindly and is only nose-high for some of us. That doesn't really matter, because it is green and it is warm. We wait nine months out of the year in these parts for what's happening now.

Ah! The Dog Days of Summer!
